Thank God for the template of the story of Creation and the commandment to keep the Sabbath holy, we live our lives in days, weeks, months, and years. Weeks, especially.
Can you imagine how it would like if one day were like the day before and the day after, or if time were not measured in distinct days lumped together in distinct weeks, starting on Sunday and ending on Saturday?
But it just had to be that way. Report to God and have yourself blessed on Sundays. Report for work/ school/ your life's post on Monday. Carry on at midweek. Evaluate and plan on Fridays. Specialize on home and hearth on Saturdays. Rest and restore and report to God anew on Sundays.
The happy paradox is that these weekly runnings, flat as they may plot out, actually -- well, hopefully -- build on each other, so that the next cycle will be done better, lived more purposefully, and concluded more joyfully.
Have a good week, everyone.
